Praying and singing the Psalms are basic Christian responsibilities. It has been said that “The Psalms are the steady, sustained subcurrent of healthy Christian living. They shaped the praying and vocation of even Jesus Himself. They can and will do the same for us.”
Studying the Psalms contextually and biblically is a worthy effort in and of itself. But it is a different task to dwell in the Psalms, praying them, singing them, and living them out in your life.
It is with singing the Psalms that I want to help you today.
I have created a HUGE playlist of songs written from the Psalms. Some only contain the words directly from Scripture. Others are more based on particular Psalms and are not word-for-word. These songs have all been a blessing in my own life and I pray that they can be the same for you.
Save the playlist and go back to it again and again. As you learn the Psalms and sing them in this way, I know they will encourage and strengthen you throughout your days. Whether you are working around the house, commuting to work, on a long trip, or whatever else you may be doing, listen to these songs that are God’s Words from Psalms.
Psalm 8:1 “O, Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!”
