Dear Aletheia,
It’s your 2nd birthday. Tomorrow you will be two years old! What fun.
I remember being filled with wonder the day that you were born. I couldn’t imagine that a little tiny thing like you could grow into such a beautiful and fun little girl.
And a little girl you are now! Gone are the days of wrapping you tightly around my chest in yards of fabric so that I could wash the dishes while you snooze. Gone are the nights of endless nursing, burping, diaper changing, and the days of daze when I never knew what time it was.
But I am so thankful for the little girl that you are becoming. You love to sing all sorts of songs… Jesus Loves Me, The Wise Man Built His House Upon the Rock, and even some Taylor Swift.
You get so excited over the joys in life. Sliding at the park, eating raisins, Daddy walking through the door.
Most of all I am thankful for the little peeks into your heart that I get to see. Like how you love to rock your dolls and other toys in the rocker, singing your bedtime songs. Then you are always sure to turn on the fan for them before you tuck them into your bed with your blankey.
And how you love your friends at nursery, reminding them that their mommy is coming back for them. How you just had to hand everyone a muffin at your birthday party. How you are so careful with ants and bugs outside, not wanting to hurt them.
I pray everyday that you will come to know Jesus as your Savior and follow Him all of your days.
On your 2nd birthday, I know that I am so blessed, so honored, to be your Mama. I cannot wait for many more years to come so that I can keep watching you grow, change, and learn. I’m so thankful I’ve got the best seat in the house.
