Happy New Year! You may have thought I stopped blogging all together, and I wouldn’t blame you. My family got pretty sick at the beginning of the year and I’ve been recovering ever since. But now I’ve finally had time to get my thoughts together and I wanted to share just a few of my favorite things from January 2020. Check them out!
In Our Ears
Songs for Saplings ABC by Dana Dirksen
I have really enjoyed turning on some music as we start our day in the morning. Somehow, it sets the tone for the rest of the morning and afternoon, making a calm environment and helping us get our hearts in tune with the Spirit. The album we’ve been listening to this month is Songs for Saplings ABC by Dana Dirksen. These songs go through each letter of the alphabet highlighting a corresponding verse from the Bible. And, each song includes the Bible verse reference, a total win in my book!
In Front of Our Eyes
For Baby
A’s favorite book this month has definitely been loving The Jesus Storybook Bible by Sally Lloyd-Jones. The stories in this book are still a little long to sit down and read for my 23-month-old, but she loves flipping through the pages and finding the different characters she knows. I can always tell that she is reading it when I hear, “Joseph! Crying in jail!”
For Mama
My favorite book this month has definitely been Risen Motherhood by Emily Jensen and Laura Wifler. I received this book as a Christmas present and it’s the best! What I love the most is that Emily and Laura are a few years ahead of me in motherhood and they share their thoughts in such a humble, encouraging way. Definitely a good read!
In My Closet
Yet another Christmas gift, these statement earrings are on repeat in my wardrobe right now. They complete an outfit perfectly and make the mom-hair messy bun a little fancier… right?
In My Kitchen
Mason Jar Lids with Straws
These lids help me drink more water! I have always had a hard time drinking enough water as a mom so having it easily accessible in a jar with a straw helps me gulp it down. And, you cannot beat the price on these lids with straws!
